Costs

The cost of any project OCH undertakes is based on an assessment of the hours of work required and additional services needed. An estimated cost can be produced on the basis of a detailed outline of the client’s requirements. The number of words of text is one factor of cost, but is by no means the only consideration. Others will include:

Before any contract of work is entered into, a more detailed assessment of costs will be submitted for agreement. Normally this will be in the form of an overall fee, but day rates can be quoted for ongoing projects of uncertain duration. Smaller projects will be invoiced at the end of the job, but for larger projects, staged invoices will be issued, with a proportion of the fee payable at the beginning of the project followed by further invoices at 30-day intervals.

OCH Editorial’s Terms & Conditions are available on request.  A model contract based on the terms of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders is also available.
